The death of a spouse or partner changes our lives instantly. When a spouse dies, it shifts the financial dynamic of the entire household. Ultimately the surviving spouse’s income is reduced immediately by 50%. In some cases, even more, drastic if the deceased spouse was the sole provider.

The reduction in income can cause the surviving spouse or partner to fall into economic hardship. Economic hardship intensifies grief and makes it hard to acquire basic necessities 

Widow Closets goes beyond just speaking about the emotional pain grief afflicts. We are passionate about doing random acts of kindness to help the bereaved cope and restore hope. Random acts of kindness can be incredibly meaningful and comforting for those who are grieving the loss of a loved one.

Without financial resources, a widowed person is susceptible to falling into the vicious cycle of poverty.

Consumable Good- (grocery store gift cards, restaurant gift cards)

Household Goods/services- (household supplies, cleaning services

Travel- (gas cards)

Self care products- (lotion, soaps, bath products, etc.)

Grief Books & Resources- (books, sympathy gifts)

Why Donate?

Your generosity makes our mission possible. Your momentary donation will directly have a positive impact on the lives of those in need. Your empathetic gift of any monetary value gives hope to widows and widowers in their darkest hour.  The program is centered on eliminating the stress and cost associated with finding support and resources.

How Does the Program Work?

Through donations, sponsorships, and fundraising events, the Grieve Believe Achieve Rebuild Program supplies various necessities to the bereaved at no cost. 

How Is The Assistance Distributed?

Necessities and resources are provided to widows/widowers when funds are available.  Request for support will only be allocated to the same household once per calendar year to spread resources evenly to those in need. When you receive support from our program, we ask that you pay it forward by donating to the program when you are in a better financial position.
